Is the Nîmes Tour app available?
Not yet. It is being prepared for the App Store, on iPhone. Leave your address on the app page to be notified on launch day. Meanwhile, all the content about places and routes can be read on this site.
Do I need an account, are there ads?
No. No account to create, no ads. The app is free.
How long does it take to see the essentials?
The "Nîmes in 1 hour" route links the Arena, the Maison Carrée, the Carré d’Art, place de l’Horloge, the covered market and the cathedral: 1.8 km, 25 min of walking, monuments seen from outside.
Does it work offline?
The texts and audio stories are inside the app. The map background and route calculation need a connection.
Which languages?
French, English, Spanish, German and Italian. This website is in French and English.
Does the app use my location?
It uses it to show you on the map and measure distances, without storing it. Calculating a walking route sends the coordinates, with no identifier, to the OpenStreetMap routing service.
Where does the information come from?
Each place lists its sources at the bottom of the page: Wikipedia, official websites of the monuments and the city. Photos come from Wikimedia Commons, with author and licence.
Is this guide linked to the City of Nîmes?
No. It is an independent guide published by Immersion Totale, a studio based in Nîmes.
